I own 2 sights a single pin HHA dial sight and a Sword twilight hunter that I just upgraded with new all green 12" fibers. I can shoot a single pin quite efficiently out to 30-35 yards. I STILL cannot use a multi pin sight as the pins are way to close together. Even from a 20 yard pin to 40 yard pin that gap is still to small for me to shoot anywhere near accurately. Most of you are already about to type what I should do BUT read on. When I use the sword sight on my bow, my bow is basically illegally quiet, like I should need a federal tax stamp for owning a silencer. When I use my HHA I still get a metallic twang at the end of the shot but nowhere near as loud before I tightened down the windage adjustment knob where with the sword there is NOTHING, no sound, NOTHING. I am contemplating some options

    1. Sell the Sword and keep the HHA even though it is much louder than silent.
    2. Sell the HHA and make the Sword into a single pin, which I can make single or vertical (I made a vertical pin sword before, I just need another 2" round aperature) I just hate that I spent the extra $$$ for 5 new fibers
    3. Sell both and get another sight with 1 pin and no adjustments to come loose or twang at the end of the shot.

I've got a Sword with .019" pins on a Hoyt Alpha Burner shooting 300fps and while the distance between pins is close (pins set at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70) it is not so much that I can't shoot between the pins to split the distance.

You must be shooting a very flat trajectory bow to have a 20 yard gap in your pins that is too close to shoot through. However, if your bow is that flat shooting, then you don't need many pins - make your pin gap 30 yards and consider yourself fortunate. It'll make for fewer yardage judging errors.

I also have an HHA - a really nice sight, but I bought it before I decided to shoot Hunter Class which won't allow me to make adjustments to the sight - and my bow is not as flat shooting as yours. Both are top notch sights. Go over the HHA and tighten down all screws. Might be a loose one. Mine is silent.

My bow is shooting right at 300, and I cannot shoot past 40 yards, 40 yards is even a stretch and slightly out of my comfort zone. With more practice I am sure I can shine at 40 also, I just need the practice.

    Set the first pin at 20, skip 30, then do 40, 50, 60, 70.

My bow is shooting 300+. my pins are close but not so close that I wouldn't have use all 5 pins. I still have mine set 20, 30, 40, 50, 60.

I don't care how fast a bow is, I have a hard time believing that 20-40 are too close two have seperate pins.

Given the circumstances, I'd go with the quieter sight.

I have an HHA, no noise. If you can't figure out where its coming from...obviously noise is bad on a hunting bow, so I wouldn't use it. You can go with the sword and one pin....just set it at 22-25 (personal pref) and you should be good to go for hunting distances. If you get to where you feel you would shoot 40, add another pin and you'll be all set.

If you have a noisy sight I'd get rid of it and use the other one. I use a Trophy Ridge Firewire V3 with vertical pins and love it.

I cant have a 20 and 30 yard pin in my sight with my Invasion and thats even with a 390gr arrow the pins are touching and its nothing but one big blurr , so what i did was set my first pin at 25 , using it for my 20 and 30 yard pin , then i have my 40 and 50 , i then took two pins out of my 5 pin sight that are not needed .

If your bow is shooting that flat and pin gap is that much of an issue for you, why not just eliminate the pins you don't need and shoot one pin? My setup shoots pretty flat and I think after this season, I'm going to experiment with a one, or two pin setup. Less confusion this way.
