Which models of the two?? I personally like TruGlo a little better but, I have seen a few Trophy Ridge I would use.

I have the truglo carbon xs and it works very good. The pins are bright in low light and in daylight and is a ight that will not add a lot of weight to your bow

The Carbon XS is at the to of my list right now for my 2012 Element. I want a light, bright cammo sight and I keep going back to this one. I am trying to keep my weight down on the bow. It seems to be the lightest one out there and for the money you can't beat it.

The hit man does look good as well but, you get a fourth pin with the truglo.

Truglo Carbon XS...totally awesome but be careful when tightening the screws. They strip easy.

If you're talking about the Carbon XS sight, then yes it will be fine for a novice hunter. Again, just be careful not to strip the screws. I bought one from a guy and he didn't tell me the screw was stripped and I had a hell of a time tapping it out as to not damage the sight itself. Good luck!

Of the two you listed, I would go with the Carbon XS. Contemplating giving one of those a try myself this year. Either the Carbon XS or Apex Game Changer. Haven't quite decided yet.

I have one complaint about the Carbon XS. Its 4 pins. I want 5. Do you know if replacement pins can be ordered? I would like descending pins also but, I can live with .019 pins.

    sight

I really like my Trophy Ridge v3 sight, mainly for the verticle pins, but also for the extra length dovetail and thumb screw adjustments. Here is a video of it on my bow. I use mine with a rifle sight instead of a peep sight. The video is regarding something else but it shows a clear picture of it mounted on my bow at maximum extension.
