    Morning guys,

I've had my new bow for about a month and only been shooting a month and absolutely love it. In my continual quest to become a better archer and hunter, I wanted to see if there were any members that live by/use the archery range at the Blackwell forest preserve in Wheaton,IL that might be willing to give me some pointers. I just want to be sure my form is correct and see if I'm doing anything wrong. From 10-35 yards I get pretty good groups, and want to be sure I'm releasing correctly. By the way if you've not been out to the new range its pretty awesome!

    Thanks,
    Tim

I haven't heard of that range before but I wouldn't mind getting down and checking it out.

form is important, but just the beginning in my opinion. I find the harder i try the worse I am. trick is to focus 100% on nothing at all, let every muscle that's not holding you and the bow off the ground go limp, and just visualize seeing the arrow fly perfectly straight down range through the sight ring. I don't even make a concience effort to aim precisely, I just let all the muscles go limp and that's my cue to go brainless, my body seems to do the rest on its own. hard to explain but I think the better I am at not trying the better I shoot.
