hey guys im trying to find a bow that would be good to compete with in 3d tournaments. i probably would do a small amount of hunting with it, but the main reason i want a new compound is to use it for target competitions. Ive shot alot of the newer bows and talked to a few people at pro shops about what a good option would be and the general consensus is to go with a monster series or the bowtech cpxl. Ive shot both multiple times and fell in love with the cpxl. My main question for you more experienced 3D archers is should i go with a so called "hunting bow" like the cpxl or if im serious about competing should i get a strictly target bow? or do alot of people compete with the top of the line hunting compounds? thanks guys

Many top tournement archers use hunting style bow. For example: Levi Morgan used a Mathews monster for a while.

I think the bowtech sounds awesome for a target bow that you can still hunt with.

He might have shot one for IBO, where there is no speed limit but he shot an Apex 8 for ASA. If it were me, and I already had a hunting bow, I'd get a strictly target bow. You'd probably be glad you did

Look at target bows like the prime one bowtech specialist any of the Hoyt target models or the Mathews conquest 4 and similar models as well as the elite pure

I personally use one rig for both. I have a prime centroid. Take a look at look at the new Elite Energy 35. I know several people shooting them. Heck Levi is shooting one this year in the ASA, IBO and even at Vegas. Sweet rigs.
