This has happend with every bow I have had including my current one. I remember the first time I got it home from the post office about 6 months ago, and put it together and shot it and thought "WOW this is quiet!!" could hardly hear a thing. Then after a day or two seemd to notice it was not as quiet as I thought and brings me to now, it just dose not seem like it was when it was new.. question is, do bows get louder with age? is it a tuning problem? I thought it might be the nock fit so tested them all and Yes they wer all a bit on the tight side, so filed them down a bit so they fit correct, I think it made a very small noise improvment but still not comparable with when it was new. (guess the nocks wer tight when it was new too) like I said, its not just my z7, its been every bow I have had in the past. Can anyone give me some pointers, please?
Could be a timing/ tune issue . On a side note, never file on a nock. This is the most critical part of an arrow. You need perfect alignment for good consistent groups. Nocks should be tight going on but a little loose once in the string. Change serving size or nocks if this is not the case. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
To be honest I think it's more mental than anything. Once the new wears off you become more critical of it. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
I don't think it is a tuning problem, the string is perfectly inline with the tuning window on the cam, the limb bolts are both the same with no tendency to tip the top of the bow on draw, no exessive cam lean, string stop is only just touching the string, arrow rest is pretty quiet, no loose bolts.... it stumps me. What I was thinking is could it be the release? no letting the d-loop go evenly and kind of "twang-ing" it ? its only a cheap Cobra release with a pretty chunky jew. yet it's the same one as when I first shot the bow thinking "wow". arrows I don't feel are to light, around 365 370ish, correctly spined. I have no idear!!
That could very well be it. It seems to be in perfect tune so it must just be me getting crittical of the slightest noise ay. Thank you very much for your response
Go through and make sure everything little bolt and screw on everything is tightened down. After about a week of shooting mine I started noticing this little vibration that just sounded horrible. I didn't know if it was something I just never noticed because it was all new or a new sound. Turns out the light on my sight was unscrewing itself where you change the batteries. Took the light off and bam all good. Also some sights have tons of screws on them. My sight has 17 screws. 19 if count the 2 spots with threads on the light. I have found before than a sight can make a ton of noise and a little tube of loc tite and 5 minutes of checking every couple of shooting sessions makes a big difference. Don't know if thats your problem but its another place to check.
