I am new to archery and hunting, and for those that did not see my intro post. I put together a 1 year plan until I go deer hunting. I have purchased my bow a Quest G5 Hammer and have it set up and now have been shooting it everyday in order to get my form and accuracy locked down. I have noticed that the bow is not all that quiet currently. It sounds like the sound is coming from the string and such. So my question is should I not worry about the noise for now and just continue on working on accuracy and form, or look at purchasing some string and limb silencers so that everything is ready to go for next fall? Thanks for the help.

Has it gotten louder? Or does it just seem loud?

Check all your bolts to make sure they are tight. Do you have a string stop on it? Has that come loose?

It has been this loud since I bought it new. I read reviews that all said it was not the quietest bow out of the box, but can be quited down easily, I bought it because it is extremely smooth and felt better than anything else I could afford for my first bow.

Fitz nailed it. String stops, IMHO, and the best investment a guy can make in terms of making a. Bow quiet.

Thanks Fitz and Backcountry. I will look at getting some of that stuff installed. I am guessing getting it now is better than waiting, so that I am used to shooting with all of the stuff installed.
