Hey guys, just need some opinions on good mounts. I have seen the Jacknife but i don't know if a playsport will fit on it? I have also seen the Insane archery mount. Which do you guys use? What are pros/cons?

I have and like the insane archery camera mount but I need to get a new camera as mine is to big and heavy. I think the insane mount works better with a lighter camera and thats the direction cameras are headed.

Insane archery mount but u have to reinforce the plastic threads in the phone with metal ones. It was 14 cents at a hardware store and took maybe 2 mins to do!!!

Bowsie15 - would you mind elaborating on what you did to reinforce the plastic threads with metal ones? I am going to try the Kodak Playsport ZX3 along with an Insane Archery Mount that I recently purchased. One thing I noticed about the Playsport that I am not very fond of is that the internal threads that you attach your mount to are plastic and will strip very easily if your not careful. If I could replace the plastic threads with metal ones that would be better.

The playsport works great with the Insane Archery Mount. The arm on this mount is versatile with different mounting options and Brian (owner of Insane Archery) is very willing to assist with any questions you may have.
I would highly recommend this mounting option.

First u have to locate some metal threads I found mine at the local hardware store. Then I drilled out the existing plastic threads so the metal replacement would fit. I made sure that the threads were the right ones because I brought the mount to the store. Then just crazy glue in the metal threads and your good to go if u need a pic I can post one. After you have the metal threads in it is 100x more stable. The plastic threads stripped within 3 times taking it off and on the mount.

how does the playsport work for you guys? are you getting good quality video with it? are you able to keep on target after release? been looking at getting a setup and an action cam, but they just so darn expensive...

The InsaneArchery Ultimate Bowhunting Bundle is very reasonably priced starting at just $175.00. The exact camera setup at Cabela's is $249.00 and that does not include the bow mount, cradle and camo skin!!

Here is a video to show the quality of the camera at 720p, 60 fps slow motion.

Be sure to watch it in 720p!

    Good luck!

I just bought the Insane archary mount and it is good if your focus is out which expands your field of view. However I returned it due to the fact that at the moment of impact it is the shakiest which kinda defeats the purpose.IMO. But to each his own. Id rather have the deer than the film. In almost all hunting videos I've seen they are using luminocks whichs helps with tracking the flight but still very shakey. Just my opinion but give it a shot may be what your looking for.
