It can happen mainly on dual cam bows while tuning. Hope there is a press nearby and a hand to help you get it into it!
Yes, this is what happened. I was helping a friend setup a brand new bow and was sitting beside the bow when he pushed the trigger. The string went limp but the bow was at full draw. I ducked out of the way just before all hell broke loose. Dealer tried to blame him and said he dry fired the bow but he didn't. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I should throw it in the shooting machine and take pics to show how the cables hold both side of the cams thus locking it in place
What most don't know if you have a long draw length 30 to 31 (binary cam bows) and you are at full draw your cables are usually straight out. Which means they support the cams from both sides. Causing the cams to lock. This means the cams are advanced too far causing this problem. As a string builder and super tuner I should have checked this in the machine before I drew it back. But being so busy duh! I drew it back. Good thing the machine was 5 feet away.
Say youre a couple thousand miles away from civilization. What do you do? Just put it down and throw rocks at it until it goes off?
