When I shoot my bow it jerks and jumps in my hand, does this mean that I am torquing my bow? Thanks for all the advice that everyone has given me so far it has been really helpful.

Do you shoot a release? Your riser hand s/b open, get a wrist sling. Yes, hand torque.

If the bow jump sideways, then that is a sign of torque.

Your hand does not need to be open but it does have to be relaxed. Most of the time, an open hand will cause torque because it is not relaxed, it is forced open.
