Last year I had a new string installed by my local bow shop. I don't recall the brand they use, it is a custom string. Did not shoot the bow at all until now. I now have a twang or Boing upon release of the arrow that I didn't have before. Just plucking the string lightly and letting it hit the string stop seems to be where the noise is coming from. I'm not a pro at this so I could be wrong. Anyway I can rectify this myself?
How much gap is there between the string and the string stop at rest? Most go with about a buisness cards thickness of gap.
What kind of bow? I love my Bowtech's but their stops are notoriously noisy. I either fill them or replace them. Otherwise as stated make sure the string isn't resting on the stop. You want a slight gap. I have experimented and different bows are quieter with different gaps.
Its a PSE Brute, and the string is resting on the stop. I'm not sure the stop adjusts in such small increments, to give it a little space. It looks like I have to loosen some set screws and slide it, but it it also looks like there are holes for the screws to lock into. If that it the case the adjustments are pre determined.
First try moving the String stop a little bit away from the string. If that doesn't work then its probably the string material and the set up and you might need string silencers. Hutch
