The key to making a great hunting show is making your viewers relate to the situations at hand. The emotions and feelings that go hand in hand with hunting are the biggest reasons why hunters keep walking into the woods year after year. For me personally, the adrenalin rush is the reason I spend hours and hours in stand. I have hit walk off homeruns and made game saving tackles, but nothing comes close to the adrenalin rush of being in a full-draw stare down with a deer waiting for it to turn broadside. Then once you release that arrow and see all your hard work paying off you have so many emotions run through your head. You are ecstatic because you put a deer on the ground yet you are sad if this means your season has come to an end. Then the uncontrollable shakes kick in. You try to stay still in your stand but you want to jump down and put your hands on the deer. The excitement in your trembling voice as you try to tell your friends what just took place… These are the reasons so many of us go into the woods every year. So what is my point? I have been seeing too many hunting shows lately where the host will kill a 180” buck and have as much enthusiasm as when I go out to get my mail. I would bet that 98% of us on this site would fall out of the tree stand if we saw a 180” buck on our trail cam let alone have one on the ground. This is why Bow Hunt or Die is the channel I turn to when I want to watch a good hunting show. They are not out there just collecting big antlers like some of the other shows seem to be. You can tell that they truly enjoy what they do and still have the raw emotion of shakes and jitters that all of us get. I would rather see a hunter get jacked up over a 100” buck than to see a guy put down a 200” buck like it is no big deal. So in the end… Thank you Bow Hunt or Die!! Thank you for showing the best characteristics of hunting. You are all genuine hunters and I applaud you. Your big fan and supporter, Sevi316
Well said. I think the guys that run the show here do an excellent job and make great productions! Sent from my Milestone X2 using Tapatalk 2
Yes it truly is a good hunting show and I love the semi live format. Here and Midwest whitetails are about the best 2 shows out. And at least Todd and Justin dont spine every other buck like the Midwest boys seem to do haha.
Thanks guys, I know that on our end there is a ton of hard work and emotion that goes into filming and making the show. Its our passion. Filming has added another aspect to hunting that I have grown to appreciate. It takes a ton of hard work and a team effort to make it happen. The team part is what I love. I am very humbled and honored to be able to be part of a show that does a great job in portraying the hunting experience and not just the average " HEY I KILLED A GIANT" to the viewers. Thanks for watching,
I do get real annoyed when the person doesnt show any emotion on film...and I also do enjoy bowhunt or die alot, good post. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
Well said Sev, Bowhunt or Die is the main reason I decided to get into bowhunting. I used to just target shoot several years ago because I enjoyed it and have rifle hunted for years and after finding this site and watching the show....I got caught with the bowhunt fever and have actually decided to sell the rifles and bowhunt only! Thanks to the staff of Bowhunt or Die, you make this lifestyle enjoyable and show the pure emotion of a good bowhunt!
I totally agree. In fact, one of my favorite episodes is the first one, The excitement of Ritchie Music downing a doe on opening day here in Illinois was enough to keep me coming back for more. Nice work gentlemen!!!
Just watched a show I recorded where every deer they have on camera is 180" or bigger (WTF). This used to be a good show that I really got into and it was amazing to see the deer they killed. Now, however, it seems to be more about the production of $ and not the chase of the deer. In fact, it almost seems like these deer are almost so common to them that it doesn't even excite them. I know it is all what you get used too, but honestly I get so excited I can hardly breathe even if it's a doe I kill. I am thankful for any animal I harvest and if I ever reach the point where that doesn't excite me anymore...time to STOP!
You can watch online right here on Bowhunting.com - www.bowhunting.com/videos You can also download the show on iTunes or stream it on your TV if you have a Roku media player. Thanks for the great feedback everyone. We really try to focus on the fact that most of us are just regular hunters no different than anyone else. Most of us hunt small properties on weekends or what little vacation time we have, and we make the best of the opportunities given to us. I know speaking for me personally, I'll never have the opportunity to hunt or kill multiple B&C caliber bucks on the properties I hunt in the time I have available. Hell, I haven't seem a B&C class buck on the hoof while hunting in probably over a decade. If I see one 140-150" deer during my season I'm doing really good. So for me, reality is that if I can kill a 130-140 on film each year, I'll be happy as can be. Plain and simple fact, I love shooting deer. The first weekly show will be posted within the hour. Let the madness begin.
I was just going to ask about that. i cant wait to watch it. ive been replaying old episodes lately so im glad a new one is here
Watched every episode a few days ago and I loved them all. Much better than alot of the Other shows. Looking forward to the next episode and you've inspired me to film my hunts. The emotions and reactions are real and that's what makes the show. You guys seem like average guys doing what they love. Keep at in man. I wish you guys a safe and successful season.
