Hey my friend troublemaker From Indiana [IMG] use a 55lb. recurve bow. He said it keeps your bow skills up so you don't have to practice when deer season comes in. Mostly I used bass jig

No doubt practicing with a recurve bow will help keep your skills sharp when deer season rolls around. However, I don't think it's necessary to use a 55lb. Bow. If your friend is having trouble with their form, increasing the poundage may help. Still, otherwise, I think it's just a personal preference. I recommend reading more about the best bows to use at https://bowarchery.com/best-bowfishing-lights-for-muddy-water/. Also, you will find many tips and advice regarding fishing and hunting there.
