bow fishing around chicago

    can anyone please tell me the rules for bow fishing in city areas or suburbs.of chicago i cant find anything on the idnr site except that you can not bow fish any of the state parks.

    When I lived up there, I bowfished in the Fox River and down at the Des Plaines conservation area.

    You can bowfish up at Rock Cut but there's a season on it.

    Bowfishing in the urban areas is hard because of all the municipality rules about discharging a 'weapon'. Every city has different rules. :(

    Which is precisely why I moved out of there. Down here when people see you with a bow they ask if they can see it or how you like that brand. They don't recoil in terror like the city folks. Most of the cops I've met all hunt and fish too. It's a whole different world down here.
