For all you bow gurus. A couple of questions. Not new to bow hunting, have taken a few deer with both of my set ups. However, I am looking at upgrading my Parker and getting into another setup. In saying that, I have done quite a bit of research into the mechanics of bow set up etc. Currently I have my bow set at 29inch DL, never did mess with it as it was shooting great ( not to mention it was in season ). Am I assuming that too long of a DL will show more with inconsistant groups at longer yardages? Out to 25yards I can damn near split arrows. 30-40yards I am lucky to keep it in the rings ( 5 inch ). I have shot a couple of other bows setup with a 27.5/28 DL respectively and it "feels" more comfortable, not to mention my groups are tighter at the longer yardages. I have done the wingspan calculations ( 27.7 ) is according to the formula. Am I shooting too long of a DL and overextending myself? Unfortunately a trip to the pro shop is about a 5hour round trip, so I am asking your expertice. Thanks again for your time guys n gals. Reese
I'm surely not a bow guru, BUT this statement says it all man ! I used to shoot a full 31" draw "for the speed & ke benefits, so i thought" Those benifits do you no good if your arrow is off in left field. A well placed arrow almost ALWAYS prevails ! btw i now shoot 28.5' draw and am SIGNIFICANTLY more accurate than ever !! Good Luck
