What kind of bow cases are you guys using? Hard case or soft? What are the 'not so obvious' benefits to either one?

I use both a hard and a soft case. For most of my day to day uses - bringing the bow to the shop to get worked on, bringing it out to shoot some targets, hunting close to home - I use my soft case. It's a bit smaller and of course lighter than the hard case, and no velcro straps to deal with when putting it in and out. I would say 90% of my needs are handled by the soft case. I currently use a Blacks Creek soft case.

If I do an out of town hunt where my bow's in the back of the truck with a bunch of other gear for a long time bouncing around and knocking into stuff I use the hard case. Obvious benefit being more protection. I currently have a Plano hard case, but am considering an SKB now that some of the newer models fit the new Mathews bows better.

Had a Plano hardcase, but clipped a string on a hunt when the case squished a bit. Went to SKB and am really happy. Never had a soft case, I've always wanted more protection.

Thanks for your input, guys. I'll have to do a search on the SKB.

Thanks for the link CMK. The Grab and go looks pretty nice.

Justin, this looks like it would fit the bill for you... I'm considering one also.

I started off with one of the Plano cases and then bought a generic brand soft case for like $10 on sale/clearance (use both of them, just depends on what I'm doing)... Those SKB cases are sweet though - would certainly take a look at them to see what kind of deal you can get - especially if you ever plan on flying with your bow...

On all my out of state trips so far I have driven my own vehicle but if I did much flying I would take a serious look at the Badlands Terra-glide - (black model so it's more inconspicuous in the airport)... Looks sweet - pack your bow in the bottom and then your other gear in the top compartment...
