The harder you try the worse off you are going to be when it comes to turkey hunting. Your best bet is to find a nice field where turkeys strut and just set-up on the edge of it... no decoys and no calls, let them do their own thing.

BBD, Kinda what BM said, Its the places that the birds want to be that is the most important in the Turkey hunting world. set up in those places to up your odds. I have killed plenty of non Gobbling birds, and have had some sneak in on me that I didnt even know were around. Patience is a big factor also. Hang in there pal ;)

Man I wish you lived closer...we could go at it together. I'm not having that much luck but I'm having a little more luck than you are...lol. I have been going to my spot as much as possible and setting out decoys then just sittin. Not calling or nothing. Gotta have patience bro...i'm still waitin on my first also. Not sure what your schedule is like this week but the last day is Sat. so if you can make it over here b4 then you can crash at my house and we can hit the woods hard for a day and see what happens. If nothing comes of it then just think...deer season is right around the bend!

With your attitude BBD, id do what Trevor says...

Turkey hunting is all about patience. Try only light calling on ridgetops or feild edges...and WAIT. Sit all day if you really wanna kill a bird.

Man, go buy some new shoes, or a new purse or something. :D

Turkey hunting can be extremely frustrating, I know. Well here, how about this. I'm gonna '1 up' ya. Last fall deer season......From November 10-January 15.........I saw 4.....Count them......FOUR..........deer. And I hunt hard. Extremely hard.

I know it's tough to stay motivated. You get bored. Tired. Sick of getting up at Oh-Dark-Thirty. Other things you could/should be doing. Sometimes taking a break is just what the doctor ordered. But while it doesn't seem like your chances are very good in the woods........I can promise you that you'll never kill one if you aren't there. Stick with it man. Find where they like to hang out, and hang out there.

Good luck man. Just imagine how incredible walking up and picking up that bird is gonna feel!
