Congrats Al! Those are some damn fine freshies you got there - and to find them all on 100 acres... Impressive! From my experience, good shedding ground is always good shedding ground. Keep that spot in your back pocket until next March, and head in there again to sweep up the freshies. You are well on your way to becoming a shed hunting addict. I recommend quitting while you're ahead and taking up golf or bowling - something easier on the feet. LOL Take it sleazy bro.
Thanks for the tips Fran While I do enjoy both golf and bowling, I have a feeling shed hunting is my latest obsession. Turkey season will be here soon, so there is hope!
Still at 0 here. I need to try some new areas. I've been hitting the same 3 spots since February with no finds. I haven't even been seeing any deer.
Ive been kinda lazy as of late and havnt kept a runnin tab of my sheddin adventures, so heres whats been going on with this "bone head" Went ou crow hunting with my buddy and the luck SOB happened to stumble on this matched set in one of my core areas. Green score with an estimated 14" spread was 95 5/8. Looking for big things out of this buck next year. Nice tore up tree along a field edge... Finally ran into this guy, left side of a 9pt that ive got on cam. Trail cam pic of said buck. Fran would be proud of this find. Both of todays finds. And a possum.
Al - congrats on all the sheds! For the first 3 years of my shed hnting, I was a scrub-buck magnet. I'd swear that I could hound out a 3" spike in a 500 acre cornfield. Something happened over the past season that's helped me graduate to some nicer sheds (slight change of longitude). Which reminds me - I'm gonna ring your phone one night and update you with my findings for this fall's Team DH hunting get-together. I'm gonna have us into some bucks, and I found a cheap motel. Sounds like Dan is in, Jason (SDH), Mike, You and Pottenger are still unconfirmed.
