We went looking at bows today originally looking at the Mission stuff. While we were there they pulled out a lightly used Mathews Ignition. We looked at it shot three different bows and the Ignition was the one she liked the most. We set her up some trophy ridge sights a whisker biscuit and Carbon Force Mayhem Hot Pursuit arrows. Didn't want to drop 12 bucks an arrow but when she saw the pink on them and we looked at the chart and saw that they were one of the options I really had no say in the matter any more. Not planning on her hunting this year unless we just get a really wild hair but this will get her started and next year she will be ready. Its the Ignition with the 50lb limbs at 25.5 inch draw. Shes pulling it with relative ease at 37lb so since she hasn't ever shot before I'm sure she will be into the 40s quickly and possibly pulling upper 40s by next season. Even if she decided against hunting it will be nice to have a shooting buddy.
My wife started out pulling #37 too. After about a month we went and had it moved up to #43 and and she still wanted it brought up a little more, so it's a good start. In about 6 months your girlfriend could be pulling #45 no problem. Just don't try to go overboard with draw weight. I was shooting from the latter a few days ago and it's a lot more difficult than pulling on the ground. Anyway way to go with getting a bow. I've never seen a Mathews Ignition before but if it's a Mathews it's probably a winner. You could probably have the bow ready to hunt with before you know it. Heck, we just bought my wife a Hoyt Vicxen two days ago and already have her sights ready from 15-35 yards. Tomorrow we're going to see how it does at 40 yards. Good luck this season.
