If you plan to use this in a home protection / defense or if are one of those who believe the Apocalypse is on the horizon I would not suggest low dollar red dots. Battery life is terrible... If you may need it, it may not be there for you.

Aimpoints depending on the model have 3 to 7 year continuous run time battery life.

If it is going to be a plinker this doesn't matter so much though. Just throwing some stuff out there for you to think about.

Looking to keep the cost low so I might go with one of these, the reviews on them have been good.

Nice.......when I finally get out here permanently we are going to have to go to the range, I love to shoot any kind of guns.

FYI, I've built 5 guns now on RGuns lowers and they are pretty good IMHO. Assuming all the holes are drilled in the right places (I've never seen any brand lower that wasn't), they are all really the same except for finish, and I actually like the anodized finish RGuns uses compared to the parkerized finishes on a lot of the higher dollar lowers. I've got a M&P15 stripped lower at my house right now and two RGuns waiting for builds to start and I like the lower cost RGuns simply due to that finish.

Saw what I thought was an M&p at .223 complete today, but I'm a novice. 1200 bones should I have bought?

I was at cabelas last Saturday, and they had 20 round boxes of 55gr varmint tips for $10. I snatched up a couple boxes. Online it said out of stock, but they probably had 100 boxes in the store

S&W's suggested retail for the 811036 is $839.....Whittaker is still selling them for $669.

Some great prices if one is lucky to get through. I didn't have the time and my local shop was being a **** about doing an FFL transfer.

That sucks man. Its a local shop and just about everyone I know has an AR now, lol....so, they should start keeping 50 or so stocked on the shelf again in the next 6 to 8 weeks. Things are slowing down.

So I decided for now to get the 3x scope from the local shop. it has a black crosshair that also lights up in Red or Green with 5 power levels for each color. They also took the sling attachment off and replaced it with a rail so I can attach a fore grip. Sadly, there is still nowhere around here to get ammo:( Luckily my neighbor has a little over 2k rounds so we should be out shooting soon.

The shop also put together a Digital Camo gun similar to mine, I'm thinking about building one like it down the road when the dust settles.
