just bought a PSE sidewinder to get me started, bought it fully loaded etc. ready to go hunting, but only came with practice arrows so need to invest in some good arrows... tried to find some info online but the only info i can find on a pse sidewinder is the crossbow and mine is the compund bow... any general info on this bow i appreciated and need some help on what type of arrows needed etc thanks guys
Welcome to the forum. As far as arrows, they're a lot like anything... the majority is personal preference. Depending on what you're looking to spend, there are several arrows that I would look at. Also do you plan on strictly hunting with these arrows? I personally shoot Easton Axis arrows, there are a lot of guys that shoot Easton Full Metal Jackets as well. Other good arrows would be Victory, Carbon Express Maximas, Gold Tip... etc. There are several arrows available here at bh.com at excellent prices.
We need to know some specifics to help you out. We need poundage and draw length at a minimum. Other variables would be head weight, arrow length, cam type, IBO rated speed...How much do you have budgeted and what do you intend to use these arrows for hunting/target, hunting what? The more we know, the better we can help.
Alright heres some info, dont know to much because the previous owner removed to information sticker inside the bow, i already have a nice stabilizer and sights and everything i need to hunt but doesnt hurt to suggest any extras for the bow -shooting it at 65pds -draw length is 30" -Fps is 297 -came with a peep sight and is a quick release bow not finger release -has a quicktune arrow rest -I am currently using it to hunt whitetail, axis, hogs -looking for bows to hunt with and am willing to spend around 75 bucks, my friend has recently gotten me started on bow hunting and he shoots goldtips with muzzys and loves them but not sure where to start, looking for any suggestions as far as broadheads, arrows and Nocks thanks for the help and welcomes
A decent choice for a starter bow. Will work perfect for killing pretty much any game you can get your hands on. As far as arrows.. Your bow probly has a min. grain arrow you can shoot... lets just assume its 300grains. Broad heads it depends on if you want mech. or standard. muzzy has been around a long time, they can be a good choice, but with all the choices out there and so on, its personal preference. I personally like Trophyridge's new arrows. They could be something worth considering. As for knocks, i'd suggest some lumenoks. easier to find if you miss a target, and if you kill a deer at dusk.. just wait a bit and follow the trail and you might find the arrow stuck in it unless your a lucky one that gets a pass through. As far as what arrow length you'd need you'll have to find someone else because Im not one for this area. Everyone will suggest a certain brand they use, in the bow world, its pretty much personal choice, best way to get where you want with items is to test them yourself.

not to sound like i am second guessing you but is YOUR draw length really 30" ? or is that what the bow says the reason i ask is not many people have that long of a draw especially when using a release with a string loop if thats what you are using (assuming) i would def. go to a local shop and get all that checked out if you havent already
Well for the past month my friend has had an old bow that he has had set up for me and like i said i just bought this bow, when i was using his bow which was a finger release we ended up setting it at 30" which worked out perfect, so the bow i currently have is set at 30 inches but i am sighting it in today and will prob be making some changes in that area, thanks for bringing that into consideration im going hunting tomorrow and will let yall know how it ends up working out and which arrows i get etc. thanks guys for the help its greatly appreciated
