Anyone have the issue of having your boots stick to the cold metal of your tree stand in the morning? I was out last weekend and whenever i would move my feet it would make a loud noise as my boots peeled off of the metal. I had deer come up on me and was afraid they would hear me positioning myself, but the leaves were so crunchy that they didn't. Is there anything i can do for this?

Hunt when it is not as cold outside:ninja:

I wrap my stands in camo tape and that seams to help. I have yet to wrap the stand I currently hunt in and my boots were doing the same thing last weekend.

Does doing so compromised the grip of the platform ? This could prove very dangerous, especially if the bottom of a hunters boot are moist/frozen !

Kidding, of course.! :D Which stand do you have? I could see this happening with a Summit or something similar. The paint is pretty flakey. I redid my stand a couple summers ago and the flaking is not as bad. I've never had your problem though.

I guess being in Georgia I only deal with this on a limited basis, but so far it has not given me any problems. I hunt out of a climber 100% of the time as well. Good question, as I could see it happening though, and never even thought about it.

Wrap your stand with hockey tape. It's time consuming (if you do it right), but it helps for noise and traction.

I put a "grip" tape on my stand bottoms. It's similar to sand paper with adhesive. It works great (I had some left over from my skate boarding days). It doesn't really make noise and the traction is second to none

This is why I switched to Lone Wolf. Infinitely quieter than any other stand I had. I also avoided my boots that had tread that would hold onto excess snow.

I bought a carpet sample that I cut to fit my platform for under $2 that goes with me in my pack. Before I step into the stand the carpet gopes down and its quiet.

Yes, and after you do a complete tape job on the LW you have the most quiet stand on this planet.:nana:
