I sat down with The Whitetail Rendezvous and chatted about my 2017 season. It was a fun talk. http://www.whitetailrendezvous.com/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got 3 mineral sites out on the new lease before the rain hit. 5 more to go on this property. Did some speed scouting and found a couple stand/plot locations too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Expanding my radish plot by my house. Deer ate it to bare dirt by mid November. Still probably won’t be enough, but we will see. I will be back to spray new area in a week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Did more scouting on new lease yesterday. Put out 4 more mineral sites. Makes 8 total on the property now. I also found what may be the best looking rut spot I have ever seen. On one part of the farm is a 60 acre block of super thick timber. On the north edge, a long finger ridge covered in cedars shoots north for 1/4 mile. At the very top of the ridge against the big timber is an opening shaped like a Nike Swoosh. MONSTER trail coming out of the timber as deer are using the cover of the cedar ridge to access the fields. What I really like though is the spot is high in topography. All my scent will be able to blow off the top of the ridge away from any deer. I am as confident in this particular spot to produce a big deer as anywhere I have been. Here is an overview of the spot I found I will be planting the ridge in brassicas in late summer. I can’t wait! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Marked out the 2 soybean plots on the new lease. Hopefully getting seed in the ground this week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Received a care package yesterday. Going to plant these in 2 plots. One 3 acres, one 2 acres. Im planting thick (190,000 per acre) in 7” rows. Come on January ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Finally had time to get back out. Refreshed some minerals and started putting cams back out on the home farm and my #1 property Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Also got a pleasant surprise. My best farm just got better. The farmer converted a section of cattle pasture to soybeans. A section that butts up to the neighbors big tract of sanctuary timber! Im going to pay owner to leave 2 acres standing. My confidence is HUGE in this farm now, even more than before Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't know who's summer velvet pics I'm more excited to see...yours or mine Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Found an awesome deal on batteries at target. $13 for 12 packs of ultimate Lithium. Half what they normally cost. Heading to put out 3 more cameras today after work. 2 on my 120 acre lease and 1 on a new farm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mowed a clover plot behind the house. Can’t get equipment back to it so I got creative Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Set 2 cameras and refreshed mineral on my 120 lease. Anxiously waiting to see what all the bucks look like with another year on them. I never hunted this farm a single time last year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got a box blind ready for a specific deer. This field will have 2 acres of corn left standing. I won’t be back to this spot again until late November at the earliest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Whitetail Institute just posted one of my articled on small property management. Most of this was based on an Indiana property I had http://whitetailinstitute.blogspot.com/2018/05/small-property-success-whitetail-ghost.html
