He is very cool for sure. The history is what makes him special. I’m actually torn at the moment on whether or not to get a shoulder mount or a euro. Normally I have a self imposed 150” minimum on a shoulder mount, but Trident is just a super cool old deer...so IDK

FFS, guys. You want to get into a back and forth with him on it PM him. Otherwise, enjoy the deer. Think what you want but not many on this site puts up more good deer pics than Booner. Most of us have been vicariously watching this monarch for 2+ seasons. Just be happy for the hunter- or not. Move on if not.

3 years of history; tons of character, nearly 10 years old, last day of season, and 50 yard shot- from the ground.
WTF is wrong with you? Full shoulder mount.
(easy to say it's not my $$$)

No I haven't. In 3 years worth of pictures I have never seen him act or look injured. Either it was a super old injury that had long healed, or he just had funky genetics.

huh...could be pedicle injury. You wouldn't see that. You'd think if it was genetic it might've shown up in one of his offspring since he's been running around for so long.

Well, that all comes with the territory. When you want to be a public figure, you attract both critics and sack riders.

I did Euro style on all my cull/old bully bucks. Never regretted it. I would not have room to put up all the head mounts if I hadn't just boiled them out. Something to consider unless you will have unlimited space for heads. But, honestly, even if I had the space (which I guess I actually do) I don't know that I would care to completely fill a room with deer heads. To each their own I guess.

Yep. I actually like the look of Euro mounts. Space is definitely a concern as well. Maybe one or two more shoulder mounts and I will have to start finding other places to put them so it doesn't look tacky.

Boonerville. You don't want to line every wall like Drurys? They have more hanging on garage walls than some guys ever see!

LOL. No. I actually live in my house and don't just use it as a hunting camp during the season. The wife puts up with deer in the living room, workout room, and piles of sheds everywhere. If I start encroaching any more it may be a bit much.

That's actually the reason I self imposed a 150" minimum. I grew up in NC, and mounted a bunch of 120-135" deer that take up a lot of space now. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud as heck of every one of them, but things have changed over the years.

I know what you mean. I built a room off my workshop for hunting related items. No heads no sheds in the house! We have since parted ways now it's all allowed in the house!!

You also gotta have transparency. Ignoring something will not make it go away. It actually makes you look more guilty. I don’t know all the facts so I’m not passing judgment. I’d just like to hear both sides of the story. So far all I’ve heard are some videos were deleted.

Pulled a card on a farm I never hunted this year. Pretty good looking up and comers! I may have to put in a plot and pay more attention to this spot.
