I'm impressed that you can keep all of those going and shoot a deer. :throw: I'm sure this is how I'd be trying to keep it all straight and have a deer watching me.............

That's a pretty cool mount. Is that a GoPro mount and something you "rigged" up to hold it to the riser?

I might have to look in to that. Having it on my head doesn't work too well.

Pics are great!! Videos were great as well. I was hoping to get a good look at that ancient buck. Hope you get some closer footage of him in the future. Getting close to big bucks is like playing chess. Getting close to that age class of deer is like playing chess against a master

    So this weekend was eventful.
Friday evening I pulled most of my cameras off of my biggest farm and found my arrow from my buck last weekend. While I was doing that...a big 4 year old I call Eastside was in the little kill plot right behind my house. Pretty cool stuff. I have decided that I will not shoot him this year, even though he is 4. I have much bigger deer on the home farm to go after.

So Then Saturday I finally had the wind to sit the blind for my number one buck. I took a buddy with me. he has only killed one buck before and I have several mature bucks that I won't shoot because I am after bigger deer, so I told him I would let him shoot if one of them came out. My radish/oat plot looks amazing. I checked camera on the plot before getting into the blind. No pictures of my number 1 for a month now, so I am afraid he has relocated. But my number 2, Mr Clean has been all over the spot almost every day...including in daylight, as well as several other big 3 year old and a couple old mature bucks.

The bad news is my buddy clearly does not practice the same scent control regimen I do. We had a doe come downwind and immediately hit the brakes and started blowing for 10 minutes:rant:

To say I was ticked was an understatement. Our hunt was pretty much ruined. My hope was that none of the big bucks were within earshot.

here are a couple clips from Saturday's hunt:

So yesterday the wind was perfect again for this bale blind, so I went back (alone). Checked camera again and to my surprise and delight, Mr Clean was there early Sunday morning working the mock scrape.

So I settled in again. Weather was warmer than Saturday but I had a good feeling.

Deer started to come out behind me in the big alfalfa field first, and then I had 2 does and a small buck work into my food plot.

Then at last light...and I mean LAST light, I had actually just put my cameras away, and I saw big rack step into the plot.

I passed a 150" 3 year old 6x5 I call Ribcage at 5 yards. It was intense! It worked absolutely perfect. He walked down the trail I mowed into the plot, and then fed his way to the downwind side of my blind and out into the big alfalfa field. he never knew I was in the world. I love these bale blinds!
He has also been a regular in the plot. If I can get Mr Clean to do the same thing he will be in trouble!

This is the buck I passed

Last night was my first hunt since Sunday. I shot a coyote on film, and then deer started coming out immediately after I shot it. Ended up having multiple deer directly downwind for the last 45 minutes of daylight. Not a single one winded me, even at 5 yards. it was a pretty cool hunt.
