Put up 3 stands on big farm tonight. One is in the same tree as last year. I never hunted it but based on camera pics I decided I should have. So i put it back up. Spot where timber funnels down to a skinny strip connecting two bigger blocks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Another i put up based on observed movement last year. The only tree in this spot is not conducive to a typical tree stand. So I got creative. I put a ladder stand up into the middle of the tree. I have to climb up and stand on the seat platform. Im going to put a tree seat up above the ladder stand so i can sit. The view is though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Strangely enough those deer you can call right into the barn where I hang them up to skin by rattling corn in a bucket. I bet an acorn cruncher would work too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well I officially have the fever. Spent a couple hours shooting my bow last night. fall breeze was blowing, leaves were coming down, corn turning brown all around...I'm ready to shoot something!
Well Urban spot number 1 panned out. just got my urban zone permit to hunt in the city where I work. I got assigned to hunt one of the city parks Dec 1-jan 30. I'm pretty happy. That will allow me to be able to bow hunt during the 2 weeks of shotgun season , and keep hunting for 3 weeks after regular deer season closes. If I am able to shoot at least 5 does, I will get an urban buck tag that I will be able to use next year. Now if only the town council would get back to me on the other one...

Checked cameras at smaller lease yesterday. Had some good and bad news. Don Vito is still showing up regularly after shedding velvet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This buck honestly wasn't on my radar. I have pics of him since June, but his antler growth was way behind the other bucks so I didn't think he would amount to much. But he put on a TON of growth late and is now the biggest deer on the farm. I'm calling him Michael. He is a super mature buck. Look at the face and body. I would love a chance at this buck.
