I'd give both testicles for a shot at a deer like that.

Thanks! The live versions are on my Facebook page and IG TV. The edited versions showing all the previous encounters and history from previous years etc. will be done in a month or two

Today is the first opening day I have not hunted in 20 years of hunting. Conditions are the absolute worst they could possibly be. 88 degrees, 98% humidity, East wind, and heavy rain/thunderstorms and a tornado warning. So I instead spent the day checking lots and lots of cameras. Most were frankly disappointing. EHD has without question hit a lot of my farms. But...i did find something pretty exciting that was completely unexpected

This is a close up of a spot where I broadcasted Cereal Rye into standing beans. Looks really good

This farm has been hammered by EHD. Seems all the bigger deer are gone. Only a few bucks left. Nothing too special

One of my new leases is in the epicenter of EHD. Checked 8 cameras on this farm. In July I had 5 deer over 150”. As of now only one mature buck left. The one I call Colorado

On another farm, no EHD, and one of my target deer, who im calling “23” is still there, just not in daylight. But its been super hot and muggy. I think 50% chance I can kill this deer

Did an oat/rye mix in the corner where I think I can kill 23. Looks awesome

Then my day was made. This past March I found a big matched set of sheds to a 4 year old I call Stubby. Then a couple weeks later I found a big dead shed buck. I assumed he was dead. Zero pics of him since February. 3 weeks ago I found a fresh scrape and put a camera on it. He’s alive! Hes 5 years old and bigger than ever! He is on my home farm, so he has skyrocketed to #1 target on my home farm.

PG-13 I am going to try to keep safe. He is 4, and the bucks on this farm tend to blow up at 5.

My big 3 acre brassica and cereal grain plot is finally taking off.

Then I went right behind my house and checked my clover plot. Probably the best looking clover I’ve ever had

My last 2 card pulls were pretty cool. Fingers has been hitting the scrape in that little clover plot

Then the last camera I checked, about 400 yards from the clover plot, yielded some valuable info about where Fingers is bedding, and also got a couple of the best trail cameras pics I’ve ever gotten

Welp...once again it wasn’t me, but a good friend killed a mega giant yesterday. Absolutely unreal deer. I filmed the recovery and took pics.
