Imagine the pictures you could have gotten of the neighbor girl sunbathing if you would have had a drone.

But everybody out there for the hunting experience, right? Fair chase and all that.

Drones do not belong in hunting.

My wife hates tan lines. Fly a drone over my yard I want a subscription fee at the least.

Big game hunters have been using choppers and single props to find game for decades. I really see no difference other then its more economical and more environmentally friendly. It's not like we can afford military class drones that have along flight time, extended range, and state of the art optics. That and using such a device would have its own challenges. With that said I would still have to be on the property or close to it. Is sitting up on a elevated position using a spotting scope to spot game all that different?

This is kinda BS knee jerk reaction stuff.

The technology in drones that the public can use (not tens of thousands of dolllars) is pretty basic. Most require line of sight for flight similar to an RC plane, and essentially are a toy with a go pro strapped to them. You don't have live feedback to see what is out there as you are flying. And they are MUCH more limited for scouting than actually using an airplane to scout (live feedback without range issues).

Basically, if the $50k military drones were being used by the general public I could see the argument being made. But this is basically banning a toy that is MUCH more limited than methods/technologies already used by many.

It's kind of humorous a record book that you can enter an animal in that you literally found on the side of the road, won't allow the use of toy helicopters to scout. LOL

Trevor, there are already affordable drones that give you instantaneous video feed to an ipad.

The technology is taking off in hyper speed and becoming more and more affordable by the day.

BC is just getting out in front of the technology which I don't blame them for that but imo, its silly but it's their rules.

The reality is that models with instantaneous video feed, not limited to 2-300 yard ranges and line of sight for flying cost literally tens of thousands of dollars. They may be used some, but to assume they will take over the hunting industry is a bit of a stretch IMO.

I mean, if we are talking fair chase, what about cellular trail cameras, 1000 yard rifle shots, bait piles, and same day flying/scouting.... Plenty of things already in use offer MUCH bigger advantages to the user than drones. It just seems obscure that toy helicopters were chosen as the thing to ban.

I think the government regulation on drones is really causing America to miss the boat on several commercial applications. Agriculture, Mining, etc... tons of really cutting edge uses for them that we don't partake in.

I think the bigger issue is the "sky is a highway" laws. 100 yards is plenty of distance to spy on my girlfriend in the yard.
