My last three bucks have been 170". Oh wait, I wrote that wrong. My last 3 bucks have totaled 170" combined.
I've seen one legit 200" buck. It was in western Manitoba Canada, and was running about 200 mph past me because some dough heads wanted to do a deer drive with there bows! I still see that deer in my dreams! LOL Anyway, here in Michigan, I'm happy if I see a 3 yr old!
I have one. I usually see one booner a year or so. I tend to have better luck with friends killing them out of my stands than I do killing them myself......
My biggest is 140 but my very first hunt ever i missed a buck that would have scored 170+. Then couple years ago seen a 180+ chasing a doe never got close for a shot tho but two biggest deer ive seen in the stand for sure. Obviously id love to shoot a bc but if i never do it wouldnt be a probalem cuz im not really a trophy hunter just shoot what makes me happy.
Haha....and if i had killed the buck my buddy killed instead of the one I ended up shooting we would have won the contest.....
A 170 class buck is possible where I hunt but I haven't come close to getting one that size. I would be really happy if I ever got an archery buck that grossed 160".
I have never seen a 170 buck one the hoof. I have one I got one on trailcam at Property #2 that will gross over 170 but he is nocturnal.
I filmed a guy chasing these Iowa giants. Never seen them with my own eyes though. This is the biggest buck I've ever got pictures of and hunted. But he was in city limits and was very nocturnal. The first pictures are from two years ago and the last is from last year. For a 4X6 he gross well but would still score great as a NET 4X4. This is the biggest deer I've ever killed. With a bow when I was 13 on film. I wounded a 185" when I was 14. We tracked him for a day but he wasn't hurting to bad. We have footage of him in post season healthy as ever.
RD....may push but still not reach the infamous B&C level this year....time will tell if I ever find out. :D
Touche.....although it's a good thing you had teammates to carry you to the win .......they don't give out points for trash talking.
Short story.... The biggest I've had a shot at was 3 years ago in my "rut stand" I believe he was a 3.5 or 4.5yr old that I've had on camera for 2 years. It was an evening hunt where I got in my stand during the rut at about 1pm to sit the remainder of the evening. I was sitting their and my safety harness was all twisted but I never stood up to fix it even though it kept bothering me. After about an hour of being annoyed I decided to stand up with my bow laying across the bars on my summit viper. As I had one hand over my head looking under my arm out of know where standing about 12 yards was the buck I've dreamt about in broad daylight. He ended up catching me move a little bit and bounced about 10 yards stopping at about 25 yards. I came to full draw and I ended up letting it go a second too soon and hit him too far back. I ended letting him go overnight. The next day we found 3 different beds covered with blood. I figured he went 140's with good mass. To this day it bothers me every single day. I was literally heartbroken and crushed that I blew my opportunity. Since then I have my new bow that I have been practicing religiously every week all summer long which I have never done before. This is the year i'm putting everything I have this fall so when I get my opportunity i'm going to make it count. **My avatar picture is him the year before I got a shot at him.
- I have never killed a gross B&C whitetail. - I have never seen a 200" whitetail alive on the hoof while hunting Party on.
