I used to read paperback books a lot in the stand when I was younger, but I was caught off guard too many times so I stopped. I spend quite a bit more time glassing now than I used to, which keeps me occuppied. When I'm not doing that I'll partake in a game or two on my phone, surf the web, or text people. I try not to get too involved in that though. Try to stay alert, you never know when something is going to show up!
I too spend most of my time glassing; however, my woods are so thick that I can't see very far. the last couple of seasons I would text friends a lot; howeve, my battery life on my phone runs dead after a lot of use. I'm starting to bring my camera and film while I am bored out of my mind.
This wasn't about being bored to death. I wanted to know how people stay in their stands all day during the early days of the season when the days last so long. Silly goose.
I've taken books wi/me in the stands sometimes but i find it somewhat distracting. Usually I just sit & think or glass around. I heard one time some guys put some car batteries & an inverter in a stand & played Xbox on an old TV they lugged up there, now how stupid can you get?!?!?!?!?
