I am an avid reader and am looking for book suggestions that pertain to hunting, specifically bow hunting. I typically hunt white tails but next fall I have the opportunity for elk and possibly moose. Backcountry Bowhunting by Cameron Hanes is on my reading list for 2015. What others should I consider?
I'm not really a book reader, I get lost in other thoughts and end up having to go back and re-read BUT, I like murder mysteries and books that take place during medeival times. That probably does nothing to help you find a book but maybe it's two genres you haven't read many books in.
Read MeatEater by Steven Rinella. Heck, if you give me your address I'll ship you my copy. It's a great book, it perfectly captures the reasons we hunt.
Bill Vale's book (currently working on his 2nd) is one of the most dense hunting books I've ever read and re-read and re-read. I know some others here have done the same thing and love the book. Worth a read, http://pressureddeerpro.com/estore/
anything by the late Jack O'Conner... also ..A look at life from the deer stand , hunting for the meaning of life ...by Steve Chapman..
Not to hijack this thread but I was able to see Alsheimer last yr at a friend of mines Church up here in Hanover Pa last February, they hold a Outdoorsmen show for a weekend and he was the guest speaker at the function....gave his insight and he's lifes story along with his testimony as well...very insightful and helpful too, strongly recommend his book/books as well
