Just pulled my cams on a small property and got a lot more pics than I expected. It is only a 10 acre piece of property among a lot of ag fields. Once the crops are harvested the deer disappear so I only have a couple weeks to hunt the property. I typically just go for a doe on this property, but this year it looks like there are a couple more bucks passing thru.
Alright fellas....Bone Heads it is! Heart Shot Hustlers will be a back up in case that name is taken!
Works for me! Now if September 26 will get here, so I can get in a tree.... Of course, truth be told, I will probably be sitting in a ground blind so my oldest daughter can go with me.
Morning Bone Heads, I haven't checked my cams in about a month. Havent talked with my dad yet, but we might go check them this weekend. If we don't then it will definitely be next weekend. Heres my best so far. Nothing huge but I'd prolly fling an arrow. The small 10 pointer picture is in my "rut" stand. I usually don't hunt that till Halloween and later. His body looks small though so i'm not sure about him. I know we got a few bigger ones running around, they just haven't shown themselves yet. Hopefully on my next camera check.
He'll, that third one will be magnificent if ya give him another year or so. He is a dandy but still young it looks like
That was my initial thought, If I had to guess he is only a 1.5 yr old with good genetics from mommy and daddy. If i'm correct, he would be a really nice 2.5 yr old next year.
Definitely not. I figure I only have a few more years before she hits those teens years, and I'll be a nobody then that doesn't no anything... Got to get her in the woods while I can and hopefully teach her right.
Those are some good looking deer. Hopefully everyone has a chance to connect on one this fall. I'll be goin to my KY spot here in a few hours after work and hope there is something good on camera for Labor day weekend.
Well my dad didnt wanna go this weekend to check cams. I wont be checking my cams till next weekend. Good thing is that by next weekend all 4 cams havent been checked in 6 weeks so I should have a good inventory of what is going on since the bow opener will be 2 weeks away from then. Looks like i'm gonna get my bow tuned for broadheads and make sure they fly the way I want them too and then I can focus on other things like getting gear ready and washing the camo I'm getting pumped
What part of the state are you hunting? I used to love hunting that opening weekend of the WI season. Was always the possibility of a velvet buck, but I only saw one and it was a forkhorn.
I was on the alternate list, didn't think I would be placed on a team that quickly...should have been keeping a closer eye on it. From west ky. Hunt public land exclusively...have 4 different buck's I've been closing in on. One has been playing with me for 3 year's now and hopefully I can end that game this year. I've had 5 cam's out since January that I haven't checked yet. Just got two more cam's in the mail and will be getting two more in a couple weeks.
