He should be pulled this week. As soon as I get a score I'll get him entered.

Been out all day. Moved my stand with the wind shift around noon. Younger bucks been on their feet all day, especially 9:30-11:30. Saw one running about an hour ago way off in the distance. Would like to get a doe for my parents. Good luck kurveball.

Just a small buck with a doe at 3pm. Watched them for 45 mins. Definitely alot of fun seeing them in broad daylight

Had the drop tine buck at 25 yards this morning. Only problem was the 25 yards happened to have a large pine tree in between me and him. He never stepped out to give me a shot and turned to chase a doe back in the direction he came from. I just hope I'm lucky enough to get a close encounter again.

Sweet. I've never seen one (alive) or had one on camera. I did run into this guy a few years back who got one opening day of gun in WI. Yes, he has it stuffed into the back of an older Saturn. Sounded like it was his first deer and just sat down on a piece of property.

Well guys, the weather here doesn't look good for this week. Mid-70's until the end of the week. Plus, I'm slammed at work this week.

The good news for me though is that I'm off all next week and hunting with my neighbor (staying in his trailer) at some of my favorite public property. Every year I typically have at least one opportunity on a P&Y quality buck or better there. Been working out frantically as the land is very rugged. So, gonna spend this week getting my cloths washed, gear packed and food prepared. Can't wait!!

Well guys, I got a few points for us last night. Not what I hoped for, but only buck I've seen this year. Big body, small rack. I'll try to post pics later. Have to get it to butcher in a bit.

Here's a pic. Got him last night. I cut rack off and will score it some time this week and get it entered. Sorry it wasn't bigger. At least it's something.

No apologies allowed!! It is never easy or a guarantee to harvest a buck, let alone a deer with archery equipment. Congrats!!

Thanks guys! It would have been nice for more points, but the more I think about it I'm glad I took him. I waited last year and ended up with no buck. With his big body and small rack I'm kinda glad to get his genes out of there too

No need for any apologies fellas. Any thing that you are able to with a stick n string is a trophy and great accomplishment to me. Plus its points on the board.

Well this past weekend was pretty fun. Friday night I saw 2 smaller bucks. 1 was a 7pt that walked right by me at 15 yards. Hope i'm not kicking myself later on. LOL Also saw a few does and a nub buck that came right up to my tree and grunted. Was kind of funny as it was so high pitched. Down to the last 2 weekends of hunting but i'm off Thursday and Friday so i'm heading up Thursday morning to start my long stretch. As much as I'd like a nice 2.5 or 3.5 yr old I might take the first good shot at a buck with any rack. No spikes or little guys of that size though. I just really want to get a deer this year with a bow instead of eating tag soup again.
