Saw one mature doe on Saturday night. She came in to about 8 yards and did not like my trail camera on the tree that was out in front of me. It was kind of amusing actually. My dad saw a 7pt so we definatley got some bucks running around. I'll probably get out this next weekend for an evening hunt. Its the Wisconsin youth hunt so i'll have to wear blaze orange.

We can only enter one doe correct? I got another one Saturday evening and didn't think I could enter her. If I am wrong, let me know and I'll get her entered.

Nice work BS and Timmy! Those 50 points really add up.

Speaking of that, I need to get going on adding some points! As of right now my workload is light on both Thursday and Friday which will be good as there is a cold front predicted to pass thru later in the day Thursday.

Yeah wasn't to bad of weekend. Our season came in Thur and I hunted a spot that we just hung a set on sat. I actually stuck one of our big 8's. Not a single drop of blood. Broke arrow about 3in above the head. Looked all day Fri til it started raining pretty good then I decided to sit that stand again since I was already there. As luck would have it my buddy sent me trail photos tonite of the deer I shot. He is alive and doing well. Actually he showing up in daylight so I don't think it bothered him much

Sorry I haven't been able to do more to put points on the board. My archery hunt here at home is over. But I still have my hunt in the Midwest at thanksgiving. So hopefully I can help more then. I have ducks to keep me occupied tell then :tu:

No need to apologize for anything. You didn't do anything wrong. You harvested a nice buck and should be very proud :) Its not so much about winning this contest but more about getting guys with the same passion together talking and sharing stories.

And if it makes you feel any better, it will probably be a month before I am able to hunt somewhere with a bow that has good bucks, and that will be in Kansas. In the mean time, I am going ml hunting with my Dad and check out/hunt another place that should be packed with does.

I'm with ya! It is exactly a month before I will be hunting the public land I hunted last week that actually hold deer. That means another month hunting around here watching geese fly over. Hmmm, maybe I need to get into waterfowl hunting.

I got out tonight around 5:00 just before rain and a cool front passed thru. I had never hunted this 20 acre property that I got access to last year. I hung a couple cams last year and all of the movement was between 10 PM and 4 AM. I had not stepped foot on the property this year until today. I was hoping to hunt in my blind 2 apple trees and a pear tree, but all of the fruit had already dropped and rotten on the ground so I just set-up to observe as much as I could while hopefully something came within bow range. Almost immediately after the rain passed a decent buck and 3 does came off of the neighbors property and ate out in an overgrown pasture. 20 degree drop in high temps tomorrow with a perfect wind so will try again tomorrow, just closer! Best part is that this property is less than 10 min from my house.
