By my calculations, that puts us in 4th place as of right now! Great start boys lets keep this thing rolling. My season opens this Saturday and I have some good videos of 2 bucks I wouldn't be able to pass on at about 25 yards from my stand hitting a little tree over pretty good, and I have another mock scrape right under my stand that I know that they have been frequenting as well. Let's do this!
Just under two weeks here until I make it out. Time sure is dragging around here Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
I sent a message to Fitz last evening notifying him that oldcarp updated his entry to include 2 pics of his mulie. He responded overnight that he missed it and will add in those points in the next scoreboard update later this week.
Florida has the most messed up regulations than probably any state. We are allowed 2 deer a day all season. We can only shoot does in archery season and on doe day. We are allowed 2 bucks a day all season long with no antler restrictions. Last year they started adding some antler restrictions in some zones. I wish Florida would put some limitations on the deer harvest. I mostly hunt on a lease near my house, on my lease we are limited to 2 bucks and 2 does for the year and bucks must be 4 point on one side. We started this rule 4 years ago and we now have some good bucks on our lease. I usually don’t shoot does on my lease because when rifle season opens my 9 year old daughter has a chance at getting a doe. I am hoping she gets a buck this year so I will be passing on bucks on my lease unless it is a buck I just can’t pass up, my #1 hit list buck. I do also hunt a friend’s property that is overrun with does, I will be hunting it next week. I should be good for 2 more does for the comp!!!!
Those are the oddest regulations I have ever heard! I wish I could shoot 1 doe let alone 2 a day. Deer population is down in certain counties here, so they have cut way down on tags and for my unit there are zero doe tags for archery. I will be going to a county that allows it though as soon as I get a chance. I'll have 3 weeks to get after a buck, then all bets are off as the deer move out of my hunting land once the crop disappears. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Season has yet to open here in the Land of Corruption (IL). Have been very busy with work. Have been checking in to see any new posts though. Most if the small properties I hunt around here I have not stepped foot on since turkey season to reduce the pressure as much as I can control. I had 2 cams on one 10 acre property that I pulled probably 6 weeks ago now. Been shooting my bow every other day if I don't have a family obligation. I hope to add to our points with a doe come October 1st.
I will most likely be in a stand tomorrow morning to try to get the season off on the right foot. Last time I was out to the farm I was very pleased to see the deer started a scrape directly in front of my stand so I roughed it up some more and put a dripper above it. Hopefully I catch a buck coming in to mark his territory early tomorrow. Really just looking forward to getting back in the woods again. Work really limited my hunting last year so I'm pumped.
To be honest, no not a damn thing. Not sure what the problem was had the perfect wind and everything I just never even seen 1 deer not even on the other side of the field so I am not sure what the deal was. I grabbed my memory card on the way out hoping to see if they were spooked by something earlier in the day but my batteries died on the 23 so no pictures since then. I will be giving it another shot tomorrow morning!
Well the moon phase isn't helping. My cameras are showing mostly night time movement. I did see 3 does this afternoon but it was just before dark. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
