Holy Moly. God be with our Eastern country folk. This is a nasty storm. Poor people down south have to feel like they are in the twilight zone. I’m hearing 6 deaths so far. And one of them was a little girl struck by a truck who was sledding. You Guys and gals from the East please be safe out there.

We got a little over a foot of snow, the winds were brutal. Luckily we didn’t lose power. That was the big fear.

Glad to hear you’re ok swamp. I just moved into a new house over here in the Midwest. With all the hail storms and occasional tornadoes in summer and ice in the winter I’ve decided it’s worth it to add a whole house backup generator. We’ve gone a week without power back in I think 2007 in an ice storm and let me tell you what that is brutal if you aren’t prepared for it.

They are worth every penny!! Renting sucks, can’t wait to own again. I was all setup on my property with the standby generator.

Just another storm no matter what you call it. Never heard of a bomb cyclone lol. All I know is it's ****ty out and have to go fire up the snowblower. Just hoping the pipes don't freeze and power stays on. Other than that, throw on 10 or so layers like always and go about your day.

Well it’s hard to laugh when deaths occur but I guess deaths occur every day. Funny video though. You being from New York are used to the storms I guess. People in the Carolinas probably don’t think it’s as funny but I get what you’re saying. It’s like every year here in St. Louis when the first snowflake of the year hits the windshield there will be multi car pile ups. Then by the end of the winter everyone is a professional winter storm driver.

Keep a faucet running a little stream of water. Keeps a constants flow through the pipes which should help.

Guess who will pay for these houses to be fixed? That would be the tax payer. Build a house in a high risk zone, where if you wanted to insure it you would not(too expensive), so you get a government back system where the private insurance make a killing and we pay the bill, Brilliant!!!!!!

Man it has been cold here. One of our officers was dealing with a guy last night refusing to get in a car in the cold. He had dementia and he wouldn't budge. After like 5 minutes our officers eyes were watering from the negative temps and the water froze on her face. Lol. It was awful.

Feels like we're having a real winter to me.
Just finished plowing snow for the last 3 hours. Was 0* when I started and is -1* now.

We really did need a good cold winter here in the Midwest. I’m pleasantly surprised with how it’s going so far. It’s funny cause it’s been warming up to like 18-20 degrees last couple days. Feels like a heat wave lol

The lashes on my left eye actually froze together yesterday. Had to go inside for a few minutes to thaw my face out before finishing snow blowing. That was pretty cool.

Apparently it hasn't been cold enough long enough here yet. I was out checking on farms yesterday and the first one I pulled into, there was an armadillo scraping around in the brush alongside the driveway. It was like 34F at the time. I was hoping a couple weeks of single digits would be enough to kill those destructive little bastards.

Man I’m glad they aren’t in my neck of the woods yet. They are close though. Them and hogs can go extinct for all I care
