Anybody have any recommendations on body harnesses?

The ones that come with stands are complete junk, and am in the market for a quality one. Preferrably not a vest style, but something like Muddy or Quality Archery Products, etc.

    Any advice would be great!

I have used the Muddy Outdoors one for the past couple of years and really like it. Very light weight and has bino hook-up. Have been considering the HSS Hybrid though just to have a couple of pockets.

I second this. Love mine! Got it brand new on ebay for $58 dollars. It's normally a $150 harness. Shop around for some deals and see what you can find.

Thanks for the input guys. Do you typically wear your harness over or under? I have traditionally worn my harness then have a pass-through in my field&stream mossy oak camo and have worn that lightweight jacket over the top.

Also, do these muddy harnesses have a quick connect system via a caribbeaner or something?

I like the Hunter Safety System. They put out some new ones this year that look awesome. I personally like the vest style but the others look to be awesome. With the vest style i wear mine over my clothing. But i dont think i would if it wasnt the vest style

I have the HSS Pro Series and the HSS Hybrid. Love them both.. I have the rope style tree straps to go with them, cant beat it.

I personally recommend the Muddy harness. It is supper light weight and the straps are narrow, yet more than adequate, reducing the chafing on the shoulders and groin area. Also the binocular feature is convenient. One less strap wrapped around my body the better. There are just two clips that clip onto the o rings on both sides of your binoculars. Great feature in my opinion.

I wear the tree spider and like it. Not a fan of the metal clips as they can be a bit loud. It's also very warm on the back because how heavy it is. I think I would like to try the muddy or the HSS ultra light. Still might.

I use a Muddy. Absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone. It's light and fits easily under my outer layer.

Why is it that they put such bad harnesses in deer stands and expect people to use them

I personally think they do it because its the cheapest crappiest harness they can get away with giving you. Hoping that you'll buy one of THEIR nicer more expensive ones.

I use a BigGame Treestands harness. It only cost me $50 new and fits and works great. I feel very secure while in it.

Who has worn both the muddy and HSS ultra lite? I have some Cabelas bucks to burn and I want to try one of these to replace my tree spider.

I just got the HSS Bowhunter X1 for hunting. I have an HSS Pro as well but I don't care to wear the whole vest whil hunting so I just use that when I am hanging stands. Then use the X1when hunting and wear it under my outer layer so I have access to any pocket in my jacket. It was a pretty good buy at $60 . Here is the link:

I am using the HSS Hybrid and absolutely love it. Its light and compact but still has pockets for release's, rangefinders, and other things. It is a great vest for what ever you are looking for in a safety harness.
