I cannot figure this one out. I have only ever seen one bobcat in the ten years I have hunted this place, and it was five miles away. It is a gnarly buck or a little hellion of a bobcat. I found this today while I was scouting. What do you think guys?

You should be able to see tiny toe nail marks If It was a bobcat.

That rub was mid-chest on me which would be one of the highest "rubs" I have ever seen.

We have an occasional black bear and their population is increasing.

Again If these were claw marks there would be small strands of bark on the ends of the mark. I've saw 100's and 100's of these done by bear at our bait sites and at scratch post's they've made. I can't tell from the pictures If there's any strands hanging there or not.

I wonder If It Isn't both a buck rub and a scratch tree.

I found many other decent sized rubs over the past two scouting days, but none of them were that high or had those marking characteristics.

I've got this one on my property that they hit every year. It's at least chest high in some spots too and we don't have bears. But I guess the top scratchings on yours could be a bear. The bottom has to be a buck rub tho. Note cell phone in bottom of pic.

I just don't see bobcat tho. too big of marks.

Im still going to have to go with bear for the top marks. They look way to deep to be a deer and the bottom is more than likly a deer, And i see a few strands coming off of the bottom of the scratches

My take as well. Them skinny marks are too deep and narrow to be antlers to me and the bottom looks more like a buck rub..
