Someone who stuck by your side faithfully through raising 4 children together is a GOOD woman. If you want to sleep around, divorce. Your kids are all grown in college, they won't fall apart. It just highlights how big of a coward Petrino is (as if his departure style at Louisville and the Falcons didn't already bring it to spotlight)... People cheapen marriages these days to the point where it turns me away from wanting it for myself even...
Wanting to sleep around is a ridiculous and selfish reason for divorcing. Don't sleep around, keep the romance you have alive. It takes work but it is so worth it. Sleeping around causes nothing but heartache and pain for everyone. Your grown children will not understand it! Will not! They will lose respect for you and likely shut you out of their lives for the pain you have caused them and their mother. Marriage is the most beautiful and important institution given and ordained by God Himself. Don't let others with ridiculous ungodly and unbiblical character and opinions cause you to miss out on something wonderful.
None of us are good! It takes a real man to EARN the respect of a woman and to BUILD his marriage into something beautiful and to present his wife without spot, wrinkle or blemish before Holy God. (Ephesians 5) The quality of what your wife ultimately becomes is your responsibility as a husband. If she doesn't meet your expectations, you need look no further than the closest mirror for the reason.
How much of a romance do you have left if you do indeed want to go sleep around? Semantics, but I guess my point is IF you are at the point of wanting an affair, your relationship with your wife is severely messed up. Either fix it, or end it out of respect to her. I don't think rationale grown children will shun a parent if they divorce after falling out of love, at least the odds are much better than if you do it to a young child. I'm not saying sleeping around is a good reason for divorce, I'm just saying if you are GOING to do it...be divorced first out of respect for the other person in the relationship. The not wanting it comment was semi tongue in cheek, I eventually will get married when I finally meet someone worth it. I totally agree with the bolded statement and that is exactly why it sickens me to see how easily/frequently people get married these days.
Not picking on you. I do hear what your saying. Grown children, rational or not, do shun their cheating parents when they act irrational. I deal with it all the time as a pastor. The primary thing that happens is that parents try to get the children to take sides. It gets really ugly when triangles begin to form and none are immune.
It's not like this guy is someone to look up too anyhow..remember like DeAngelo Hall stated when he left the Falcons mid-season "The guy is a joke, and a coward"...he hired this girl in the role she is in...so the relationship more then likely started then.....he wasn't fired for the relationship but more so he lied about him being the only 1 involved in the accident.......to his boss and attempted to cover it up....
Now the university has the next problem. What do they dare do with the bimbo. You fire her you're going to get a multimillion "sensual" harassment suit. If they try and fire her because of the No Fratting clause.... she claims she had to do it to keep her job. I honestly don't think anyone in their right mind could believe a piece of tail could be worth a 3.8 million dollar a year contract. His wife is next on the "Pay Me" list. The more that comes out..... the bigger sleeze this guy becomes.
She keeps her job... gets a big offer from a certain magazine publisher to pose for some questionable photos... gets fired for posing... seeks legal counsel... sues the school and gets millions more. Bobby sells his hair to a wig shop.
