Did you here this idiot last night? Who does he think he is using a Sunday night football game as a platform to spew his liberal crap???
I have no idea what you are referring to, but I find people only have an issue in these situations if the comment/view is something they disagree with. When people, Tim Tebow for example, use their platform to spew things we agree with, we applaud their courage. Funny how that works.
Matt, if a player said that after or before a game I would have no issue with his right to say it. For an announcer to use SNF as a platform to spew his opinion is irresponsible ..Costas has always been a dweeb ... but he stepped over the line on this one. Again, if he said it somewhere else, and he has, I would have no issue with it ... other than the fact that the viewpoint makes no sense to me...
If Costas would have used his platform to defend our rights to own guns, would you still be outraged?
Bob is a tool, that's for sure. NBC is run by a liberal commies who know they can't take over the country without gun control. They picked a national platform to spew it, this is just another example of network tv is for a socialist society.
I agree PT. I lost all respect for Costas. Spewing anti-gun crap because some loser snapped is total bs. What a POS, both him and NBC.
So I just want to get this right. Guns Kill people, right? If a man is so angry at a person that they shoot them 9 time in a fit of rage, do you not think they would have found another way to kill them? I remember this one time. I was so pissed at this guy, I would have filled him full of lead, but since I didn't have my gun, I just walked away and everything was fine. Stupid people with stupid opinions. Pretty sure he would have stabber her with a steak knife, or just beat her to death if he was in such a rage that he shot her 9 time.
Whether we agree with it or not, we don't employ Bob Costas. Its up to NBC to decide if that was okay or not. Even though I don't agree with the topic, at least it was tied to sports news. I still believe if he said our gun rights are important, and this shooting has nothing to do with gun control, we wouldn't see a thread here today.
I have no problem with him exercising his first amendment rights, however his message was totally false and he used a national platform to push forward his agenda. For that I am disappointed. The funny thing is I guarantee Bob Costas and other high profile announcers like him have bodyguards for portions of their travel throughout the country and movement within the stadium in which they are announcing....and guess what? Those bodyguards have GUNS. I guess Bobby boy doesn't mind someone carrying a gun as long as they are protecting him. That crazy KC linebacker could have used his bare hands to kill that woman.
Had Costas said it had nothing to do with gun control, it probably would have been censored by NBC. Had it not, we would still be discussing it here because of the big stink gun control advocates would be making right now. http://ruraliowegian.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/nbc-bob-costas-and-nfl/
It's a shame no one of national prominence will defend our rights on the issue...and talk sensibly to others (sorry Ted). But I'm not outraged really. It's an idiot offering an idiots point of view to blame the tool. A guy who drives a nail in crooked has no right to blame his hammer, same applies to the POS who played for the chiefs and his gun.
Matt and Hook, I would not be outraged ... but I would support you guys that would be It was the wrong platform ...
