A hunting buddy of mine is color blind and basically can't track a blood trail unless he catches the glistening of fresh blood. Last week I was out of town and he shot a doe and wasn't able to recover her after a long frustrating search.

I've seen a few things on the market that claim to help but not sure if they would help him being that he is color blind.

So the big question is... Are there any legit blood tracking products out there that actually work and that might help him?

Hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle maybe? I cannot imagine being red/green color blind. That must be tough for him to deal with.

Thats what my suggestion was going to be. Following a blood trail sure would be hard without being able to see red

I've never used this stuff, but always wondered about it. I'd say it's worth a try though if it can help him find his deer whenever no one else is around to help though.

Peroxide in a spray bottle is the way to go. It works beautifully!

Thanks guys, I hadn't heard of the peroxide trick, we'll have to try that.

Wouldn't a blacklight work with someone that is color blind? If it's dark of course.

Blood contains an enzyme that breaks down the hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen gas. The oxygen gas is released as bubbles.

Basically he's saying, it doesn't change colors, it foams/fizzes up like it does on your skin. So you start looking for that foam instead.
