I love my Browning Nitro headlamp. Runs off a single cr123. Has red LEDs, blue LEDs, and a two stage white light. It's almost all I use.

If I need to bring out the big guns I have a rechargable Cyclops Sirius 500. I like it because it also has some LEDs in addition to its spot.

Since I'm colorblind I can't contribute much that will help you. I have found that a bright green light helps me immensely in blood trailing at night. For me, white light is just as useless as daylight. I can't see the blood. With a green light the blood shows shiny black to me and I can follow that.

This year I picked up a 2 AA Maglite Superbright LED flashlight and put a green lens in it. Even though I didn't have to trail her, t got to try it on the doe that I killed last month and I think it's going to be great.

Have not got to use it tracking yet but I picked up a Bushnell TRKR H225L headlamp this year and I love it.. Runs on 3 AA batteries and is 225 lumens.. Hi/lo white led, red and blood tracking light. I dont know how the blood tracking mode works yet but I do know it makes things look way different with it on (color wise). Picked mine up at walmart for like 25 bucks I think.

Go to the candlepower forum, look for vihnguy, he mods a nitecore headlamp. Variable power white with red blue and green leds also. Well worth 110 bucks.

I use a LP Lantern. To me there isn't a better blood trailing light that comes close.

I have a Streamlight LED right angle light. Use it at work on my gear. Super bright! I also have some "blood tracking" light from TSC and surprisingly the ultraviolet LED switch works amazing on blood trails!
