Never took pictures of the blood trails but they were both pretty good looking trails! Update: I shot both of these deer with a spitfire double-cross Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well, not a blood trail photo but it is the arrow an hour after my shot last Friday on my buck. The pic with my black sweatshirt on is first photo after my wife and I found him Saturday morning. It was a long sleepless night! The camp photo is after I got him back to my truck. Not a monster, but my biggest, I hunted real hard for him and I couldn't be happier!
15 yard shot. Ran less than 20 yards, heart was a pile of jelly. Muzzy Trocar HB with Easton FMJ 5mm (total arrow weight of ~515 grains) Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Perfectly quartering away at 5 yards, ran 20 yards and turned broadside to try and figure out what happened to him, pranced around for less then 5 seconds and tipped over. Was my first archery buck, I was extremely proud knowing he didn't suffer at all which was a direct correlation to all the hours spent practicing. And although I thought I was addicted before this harvest, the total experience is what put Bowhunting over everything except the good lord and my family. A pair of photos from a doe I killed in late November, point of impact, and a tree she ran by that is about 11-12" in diameter.... She was down in about 75-80 yds. I'm about 6' and about 245#, so she is a big old girl...
Great thread but would be even better if everyone shared the broad head they were using...just a thought.
