My daughter only shoots 42 lbs and after seeing the damage the blood runner did on her buck and on 4 deer 2 being bucks over 200 lbs I would say bloodrunner hands down..Walt

The Blood Runner has been a very popular head this season. I have heard nothing but good from them.

I've shot both heads and they both fly very well, and provide excellent penetration. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either head but if I had to pick I'd go with the Bloodrunner. A larger cutting diameter and overall cutting area are going to provide just a bit more in the way of blood trails, and hopefully shortly recoveries.

Best of luck on your decision!

I can't speak of the Blood Runner, but I can speak of the Stingers. The stingers fly great and penetrate very well, I did however tend of have weak blood trails even when I watched the deer fall in sight. Obviously it doesn't matter what the blood trail looks like if you see the deer fall, but that's not the times you worry about anyway. I'd go with the Blood Runner as well.

No experience with the blood runner OR the stinger (except a good friend's exp. with the Stinger.....and he was successful about 14 out of 15 times with it, this year).

THE thing that makes me lean towards the Stinger for you is your DW.

I can tell you from experience with "mechanicals" and fixed heads....that I won't ever suggest anyone shoot mechanicals with a DW similar to yours. They (mechanicals) eat up a tremendous amount of energy as they pass thru.

I was shooting a larger mech.....and admittedly NOT optimally tuned (those are definitely mitigating factors). But I was also shooting 60+#'s.....and my DL was longer than yours (+/- 290fps from my hunting rig, when I shot a compound.....and that was my LEAST powerful setup utilized). I consider a pass-thru paramount to good recovery rates. I wasn't getting them, shooting mechanicals (not even 50% of the time).

    I now shoot 43FP's KE.......181fps.....out of a 52# (at my DL) trad. bow.....and I shoot a COC 3-blade fixed head.

5 deer down in 2009 with this setup. 5 pass-thrus. 5 whitetails harvested, with the longest track being 150yds (Other "tracks" were 35yds; 20yds; 60yds and around 100yds).

If you're pushing enough KE, I'd never tell you to NOT shoot a mechanical. I've seen what they can do. They're devastating.

But...........you're not pushing the KE "I" would feel comfortable shooting to utilize one (mechanical head).

"I" would go with the Stinger.
