For me, early season I will do some doe bleats, and a couple younger sounding grunts. Once the deer have seen some pressure I don't call anymore. I learned that the hard way after watching a few deer take off running in the other direction when I tried to call some in. Plus from what I have seen deeper grunts or snort -wheeze tend to scare off bucks if they have been on the losing side of a fight or two.
