Hi All: I am new to fleching and I plan to use Blazer Vanes with Carbon Express Terminator Arrows. These are my practice arrows. I have a Bitzenburger Fletching jig with a straight clip. I plan not shoot at a deer at more than 40 years. How should I fletch these arrow? Straight Right Left Helical PSR Bowtech Tribute. Truglow Slight Carbon Express Terminator Arrows
I would go with right although with blazers you won't see much of an offset as they are so short. Also I reccomend using fusion 2 inch vanes as they stick a lot better and fly just as well maybe better than blazers
If the Bitz only has a straight clamp your kinda stuck with either: Straight or offset. You won't be able to do helical unless you have a helical clamp. Personally I'd go with as much offset as the straight clamp would allow if your only hunting with them.
What kind of arrow rest are you using? But like CF said above with a straight clamp you are stuck with either straight or offset, and to me the kind of rest might make a difference.
Generally speaking when I fletch Blazers for someone i'll always run with a 2* right offset. Helical is pretty tough to achieve with the Blazers, too stiff.
I fletch Blazers with a Bitz straight clamp using as much offset as I can get on them. Using a drop away rest. Not sure what degree offset it is, but it isn't as much due to the shortness of the vanes.
The Bohning Blazer Vane fletching jig puts an awesome helical on them. I dont know how but it does and they fly great!
The Helix Jig and the Tower Jig with the 3 degrees of right helical both put a nice twist in the vanes , the jig plate for the Helix and the Tower Jigs arms both have the vane groove molded with the helical in them .
This is how I fletch mine! 2 degrees works great even out past 40 yards! I tried helical and did not notice any difference in my groupings.
This year is the first year I have switched to fletching blazers to a right 3* helical (blazer jig).. to be honest I have not seen any difference in my groups but still really like it
