Every dang hunting site ive been on has been celebrating this today. Talk about a hated man....i didnt even know who the guy was.
Blago lesson for the day: Blago has gutted our DNR funding and jobs by about half since he's taken office. It wasn't exactly flush when came in either. The money taken in from hunting licenses and park fees end up going back into the general fund. There are 'special' funds where the money from certain fees are supposed to go back into helping whatever use they came from. Habitat/land acquisition, boat ramps, etc.. Blago had no problem robbing those funds. To add insult, he just recently closed 11 state parks. (even tho' some of those parks bring in more money that it takes to run them) Less than 1% of the land in IL is owned by the state so those closings really hurt. The IL pension debt alone is over $44 billion. The current backlog on the state's unpaid bills is about 4 billion dollars. (a lot of that is owed to hospitals) So not only is he a crook, he's an lousy governor. (heck, our last governor was better and he's currently in jail.) Speaking of which he'll make the fourth IL Gov. to do jail time in the past 30 years. We have a heck of a track record in IL. Let's hear it for Chicago Politicians! Good thing we don't we have one as a President. (wait a minute!...)
yeah, most Illinois voters didn't either. ...of course I'm not sure it would have made any difference to many of them.
IL doesn't have any more corrupt politicians than any other state, we are just better at catching them. !! :D Dude looks like Michael Landon with a comb over, he should be a popular guy at the butt hut.
Illinois (chicago in particular) is a solid leader in corruption and crime. I think Illinoizians are just numb to a lot of it. "If it isn't the most corrupt state in the United States, it's certainly one hell of a competitor," Robert Grant, FBI.
This is funny. Positive feedback is too high tho'. I believe Blago had a 4% approval rating. http://www.flickr.com/photos/iowahawk_blog/3097265339/sizes/o/in/photostream/
From a hunting standpoint, all I can do is stand up and cheer. The idiot also affected my work as well, since I work in medical sales and 65% of the hospitals in my territory are in Illinois. My credit department actually had to cut one off and put it on hold because they couldn't pay their bills -- almost entirely due to Blago's mismanagement. That effects patient care in an area sorely needing a hospital and its services. I hope he gets 30 years.
Hopefully around Halloween time next year, in a white collar federal prison, Blago will be Chewbacca when his PRO-ceeding hairline eventually engulfs his entire face. Sure wish they would stick him in Statesville with the thugs instead of where he will go if convicted.
