Just got back from a 5 day cruise for deer and goats with some friends on a local trawler. We managed to not get eaten by copious amounts of bears, nor did anyone fall off of the very steep and fast melting snow fields. We were even able to get a young man his first deer, or three!

We had high hopes for it being a bow hunt but with unseasonably high temp.'s and no snow the hunting was pretty hard. I passed on a small buck, as did my friend Cole but I was able to finally break in Yeti, my Z28 snow bow, on a ptarmigan.

Boy, Alaska sure looks like a boring place. I hope I never have to go there. </sarcasm>

Great photos, Rob. Keep them coming...you live in a completely different world than I do.

Rob, I've never been one to be jealous about anything...but sometimes your threads make me think I might be just a little bit:)

Congrat Rob !! That hat wouldn't have worked here the last 2.5 weeks. The road hunters would have shot you in a heart beat. LOL

That's the nice thing about being here; I know exactly who and where everyone is that's hunting near me and some days there may not be anyone within 20 miles of me.

That's a great thing about living in Central Illinois. I can go just about anywhere and it seems like beautiful, exotic terrain compared to home. :)

    Alaska would be sensory overload.
