I have it in a 3 pin with the 4" dovetail. I love it!!

I sighted in my 20 & 40 yard pins, then used them to match the gap on the tapes. It worked for me. Seems accurate for the fps, but I don't have a chrono to know for sure.

thanks for the reply! that makes a lot of sense and sounds like an easy way to sight it in. Anyone else?

I have a Black Gold Pure 75 (LH) and I love it. I bought a whole new rig and I am still just getting my bow broken in, therefore only focusing on the top 20 yd pin. The reason I chose the Pure 75 is that it is the best of both worlds...has 3 pins and the wheel/tape adjustment so that you have 3 yardage choices after getting dialed in for the top pin. Pretty cool. Can't wait until I have tape on there and it is perfectly sighted in.

Not to mention...the people over at Black Gold like Travis who helped me over the phone are awesome.

I've said it before....if you want bright sights get a black gold....so bright you will see them with your eyes closed.

I have the ambush ascent and really like it. The yardage pointer is a bit on the cheap side. Like these guys said the fiber is very bright.

The farther out from your risor the sight housing (pins) sit, the more accurate you will be. Greater distance between the peep and sight........ Having the 3rd axis adjustment is just awesome.

I also have the 3pin 4" DT. The sight friggin rocks and so does MBG in general.

Hey guys one more question as i am ready to pull the trigger on this sight. Im trying to decide weather or not to get the dove tail thinking the 4" or to just stick with the regular base. My question is this, does the 4" actually extend it out farther that the regular base?. i've tried finding pictures but haven't seen many. the regular base looks like it extends the sight out about as far as the 4".So if anyone has an answer that would be great since it is a $35 up charge. Thanks for all the help.

The dovetail and standard base will be about the same length, however, the dovetail gives you 3rd axis adjustability which is not available on some of the other bases. A sight like the new Pure 75 series has 3rd axis adjustability on a standard base, and puts the sight out at a very nice length. Look at the specific model you want and like mr Bennettallica said, the people over at MBG are awesome and would be happy to inform you of what your sight comes with

Have almost the same set up as Fitz and love it.

I can't seem to get the 3rd axis adjusted to where I want it. Doesn't seem like it wants to move in much. Anyone?

I love my Black Gold Ascent. I have 5 pins, 20 to 60 yards. I also have the 4" dovetail. I will probably get the 6" dovetail next year. Anyway sighting in with the speed tapes that are provided worked great for me. My ascent is accurate out to 110 yards. I can't go down any more than that with my sight because my arrow fletchings hit the sight housing if I do.

check out the top side of the sight base above the cap head (3rd axis adjustment) screw, seen some bases with a very small set screw on top to keep it from moving on its own
