Last year during thanksgiving week I had a bruiser of a buck walk by me after I'd already used my buck tag on a smaller one. This year still with buck tag in hand I hoped that strategy would work again and I could pick off a worn down and hungry buck before the start of gun season. I settled into position overlooking a food plot with over 2 hours of daylight left. The neighbors were not at camp and there were no tracks leading down into the property so I was hopeful that the deer would be back on a daylight schedule. At 4:15 does started filtering through. Finally just before 5 I glanced across to see a really nice buck at the wood's edge. A shooter for sure if given the chance. He slowly inched and fed his way across in front of me, clearing the last few limbs at 13 yds broadside, I drilled him hard. As he whirled to run away I saw the blood spurting from his side and knew he wasn't going far at all. Up into the woods he went and just as he got into some thick brush for me to lose sight, I heard him crash. Here he is after some help arrived to help me get him out of the woods. I still may be dragging him otherwise The first time I have doubled out on bucks in PA & OH during archery season
