So for those of you who are really going on a Bivy Hunt, any foods that you particularly like to take??? For me personally, I take JERKY, Ramien Noodles, Trail Mix, Tang or the like to flavor water and get Vit. C, Peanut Butter and Crackers (in the past, but this year it will be flat bread almost like English Muffins), single Jelly packets, cereal bars, and I'm gonna pack in some Salmon and Tuna foil packs with some single serving Mayonnaise packets as well. But my real favorite is my Backpacking cookies......

1cup Raisins/Choc Chips (your Choicie, I like BOTH), 1cup Coconut, 1 cup cereal (corn flakes, Cheerios, bran flakes for regularity), 1 cup Oatmeal, 1 cup crushed nuts (walnuts, pecans, peanuts???). Mix in a bowl.

In a mixer bowl, mix 1 cup shortening, 1/2 cup Brown sugar, 1/2 cup White sugar, 2 Lg Eggs, 1 TBSP Vanilla Extract, and add the above ingredients.

Then "GENTLY" add 2c flower, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp Salt. Mix until the ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Grease/spray a lg. cookie sheet and use 1/3 cup of mix shape into a bar shape (not too close together because they grow) laying on the cookie sheet, and cook 12-14minutes @ 375 degrees.

I have no idea how many calories each of these has, but it's got to be somewhere around 500 or so per bar, which they are going to be a little bigger than a "Nutri-Grain" cereal bar.
